The Challenge:
Limited educational opportunity prevents the DRC from developing as it should. One of the richest countries in the world in terms of natural resources is one of the poorest in terms of economic development.
Outside a few modern cities, there is virtually no government infrastructure. Isolation breeds lawlessness, poverty, and myriad abuses for the disconnected and underserved people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Child labor practices in cobalt mining border on slavery.
The Solution:
Evidence demonstrates that support for Higher Education can help a nation solve social problems.
STEM Scholarship funding provides the means of empowerment for social and economic development. Human capital formation leads to social transformation.
We have leadership from the Congo and Diaspora Including the USA. Our endorsements include Program Ambassador Denise Tshisekedi, First Lady of the DRC. Global partners include the IEEE organization of Professional Electrical Engineers.
Long-Term Impact:
Long Term Impacts are Socio-Economic Development, Social Entrepreneurship, Smart Villages, and Ethical Industry to End to Human Rights Abuses.
In the year 2020: We want to award 100 scholarships. By the year 2030: 700 well-trained scientists will be working in the DRC!
