I am no longer scheduling new portrait sessions as i have reached my goal of $10,000! thanks everyone. Soon I will post a link to a gallery from round two of the #projectionportraits!

The week of March 9th I was in NYC shooting Holiday 2020 campaign for Lilla P and a kids editorial. A very typical NYC work trip - trips i LOVE. The evening of March 15th I flew home, excited to get to the post processing bright and early Monday morning...but then everything changed. Shutdown. I had to cancel a dozen kid portfolio build sessions and like many people, I was not able to work.
Not creating was very mentally draining and it took me a few weeks to literally find space in my head to start to figure out what i CAN do during this shutdown. Which brings me to now.....one projector, projecting on my studio wall, real time video chat sessions with people. Those basically life size projections I then photograph. It is the closest thing I can get to at the moment of in studio sessions with people and all their magic.
There are a lot of technical challenges with this process but I am finding is that the results are dreamy and blurry, surreal and real at the same time, flawed and filled with elements that are way out of my control. Sound familiar? yep #pandemic
After days of testing the connectivity issues at my studio and figuring out which hardware gives the best quality video, I completed the first session on May 1st. Special thanks to Harper, Sloane, and Susan who visually met with me a few times to help hammer out the technical issues. And to help make the first session super amazing, Jill Rothstein, an AMAZING stylist from the hard hit NYC, tele-styled this session for us.
