Let's Help Jay

Donation protected
Jay Gamel, our longtime friend, mentor and colleague here at the Kenwood Press newspaper, lost his home on Adobe Canyon Road on Monday, Sept. 28, in the Glass Fire.
Jay has lived in Kenwood since the early 70s and has been the chronicler of our lives for most of that time, reporting for the Kenwood Press (which he founded), the Petaluma Argus Courier, and other publications. But beyond that, Jay has been an active volunteer in the Kenwood community, and the most loyal of friends to many of us.
Jay's little aerie, perched on a redwood-studded hillside above Sonoma Creek, was a haven. He loved living up there, communing with the critters who visited him on a regular basis – deer, squirrels, wood peckers, and his beloved cats, of whom there were many.
Jay has helped so many of us over the years. Now it's our turn to help him. Please donate what you can so Jay can find a place to live in this area while he goes through the arduous process of dealing with FEMA and the insurance company, getting the site cleared, and figuring out if he can afford to rebuild.
Thank you.
