Freedom, a 5 minute dramatic short, is a provocation, an appeal to the world to listen to our voices and for us to embrace our innermost desires. To break free from society’s expectation of ‘an Ideal woman’ and be free to slither out of the box we name as our comfort zone.
OUR FILM
Freedom is a film that explores restrictions we racially diverse women face by our sheer identity. All the women in this team have at some point broken through the roles decided for them by society and reclaimed their identity, in all its diversity. We have women from a plethora of countries, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. It is an all-women production apart from our music producer who is in the process of exploring his femininity.
Feel like a person, with flesh and bones and desires and a heart, with mood swings and a strong internal world. Not just an entity, a portrayal of what the ideal me should be, a talking mannequin for your display? I want to be free.
OUR TEAM
Vidushi Chadha wrote freedom 4 years back, in India, when she believed that her dream of becoming an artist was an impossible one because of the social pressure that surrounded her. We are all products of the patriarchy that penetrates every aspect of our life. Freedom is her attempt to subvert, liberate, and break the barriers that make us less human.

In order to bring Freedom to your screen, we’re counting on our past supporters and new ones to help us raise an ambitious, but necessary, $15,000. We chose GoFundMe as our preferred platform because we’ll need every dime donated to bring this film to life. The funds will go directly to the producer, who will disperse them amongst various departments.
Your donation will help us secure crew, quality sound mixing, gifted talent, food to feed the actors and crew, insurance to assure property-owners they are protected while we’re filming, costumes, props, music, film festival entries, and all that it takes to make a film!
