Dunellen’s Virtual Miracle Mile Concert is Music to Business Owners’ Ears

The Borough of Dunellen is partnering with the Dunellen-Green Brook Rotary Club by banding together to support the heart of its community—mom and pop business owners—with a virtual Miracle Mile Concert and fundraising event on October 17, 2020.

Like much of the country, the impact of COVID-19 was felt hard by Dunellen’s downtown business district with many businesses temporarily shut down or working with reduced hours, staff, and patronage. The Miracle Mile Concert is being used to raise funds for a small grants program to help lift these businesses up.

"I am thankful to the Dunellen-Green Brook Rotary Club for partnering with the Borough of Dunellen in sponsoring the Miracle Mile Concert,” said Mayor Jason F. Cilento. “Although the curve has begun to flatten, our businesses have been hit hard, and these small grants could very well help with simple things like PPE to ensure safety for their employees and patrons or another business need.”

Dunellen business owners, like Quentin Jordan of All Day Fitness, are happy for the support. "It took years to build All Day Fitness into what it is today, and the last few months made me question our future here,” said Jordan. “Bills didn't stop, but the classes, training sessions, and new memberships did. It's encouraging to see Dunellen rallying behind its businesses."

The virtual event will tap into a bevy of homegrown talent and special guests to submit performance videos for the YouTube-housed concert. Current concert line up spans musical genres and includes:

·       The Paul Nagy Project

·       Black Cross Band

·       Drew Hoski of Twopenny Porters

·       Lee Ottman

·       12 String Thing

·       Princesa

·       Robin S. Walker of RENT (Broadway & National Tour), Avenue Q (off Broadway & National Tour), and The Lion King (National Tour)

The Miracle Mile Concert will not require a viewing fee, but will ask that viewers help support the cause through a GoFundMe link. Limited edition #DunellenStrong merchandise designed by Dunellen Borough Police Department’s Detective Joe Dudley will also be available to purchase with proceeds going to the grants program. Merchandise may be purchased here: Downtown Dunellen Virtual Miracle Mile Fundraiser
