Northwest Tortoise needs help with surgery expense

Tax deductible
The Hulk (Russian tortoise) needs help

Update: 9-28-2020 - The surgery went well. The front leg has been amputated, he's waking up and breathing on his own! Not out of the woods but its good news!

Hulk arrived at the rescue Sept. 12, 2020 suffering in this condition for more than a year. His leg needs to be amputated. (front right leg looking from top and front left looking from bottom of tortoise.) It's possible he will need further surgery's, but this is the first step to restoring his quality of life.

He is currently under vet care and is awake, aware and eating! All good signs he wants to live! Tortoises can adapt to three legs and have a good quality of life.

The cause of swelling is unknown. Below is a copy of the x-ray showing the swelling in the front and back left legs (view from bottom of tortoise) and an area on the other side of his neck. Most of it is calcified.

Hulk needs to undergo surgery to remove the front left leg and the calcified deposit to the right of his neck. This is serious surgery.

It is possible he will not make it but I must try.

So far his vet bill is $559.76 and I'm expecting $800-1,000 for the surgery.

Please help defray the cost. This is a large amount to a non-profit! Additionally, spread the word! Every dollar helps!

The Hulk thanks you and so do I!
