Brain Surgery for Wilmer Martinez
My name is Thalia Martinez and I am raising money for my 14 year old little brother Wilmer Martinez as he needs to get a very complicated brain surgery in the Dominican Republic due to him being an epileptic since he was a baby. In the last few years his seizures have been getting increasingly worse and his mother has recently taken him to an epileptic specialist where they ordered a significant number of tests to determine the cause of the increase. They have determined that there is a dead parasite in his brain and need to perform surgery to remove it as soon as possible. The surgery is high risk and they currently don’t have health insurance that will cover the cost. This surgery could save his life and help him someday lead a life with no epileptic episodes or can significantly reduce the amount of episodes he currently is undertaking. Any help is greatly appreciated as his mother is a single parent with no way to pay for this surgery on her own. We are hoping to get him into surgery this month.

Mi nombre es Thalía Martínez y estoy recaudando fondos para mi hermano pequeño de 14 años, Wilmer Martínez, ya que necesita una cirugía cerebral muy complicada en la República Dominicana debido a que es epiléptico desde que era un bebé. En los últimos años sus convulsiones han ido empeorando cada vez más y su mama lo ha llevado a un especialista recientemente de epilépticos donde le ordenaron varias pruebas para determinar la causa del aumento en convulsiones. Han determinado que hay un parásito muerto en su cerebro y necesitan realizar una cirugía para extirparlo lo antes posible. La cirugía es de alto riesgo y actualmente no tienen un seguro médico que cubra el costo. Esta cirugía podría salvarle la vida y ayudarlo algún día a llevar una vida sin episodios epilépticos o puede reducir significativamente la cantidad de episodios que tiene actualmente. Cualquier ayuda es muy apreciada ya que su madre es madre soltera y no tiene forma de pagar esta cirugía por su cuenta. Esperamos llevarlo a cirugía este mes.
