The Way Museum

Tax deductible
The Eastern Arts & Humanities, Inc, was originally created in 1979 by Boston area resident, George E. Mattson, the "grandfather of Uechi-Ryu Karate. (uechi-ryu.com). Since 1958, George has trained hundreds of instructors and their thousands of students.

The concept of the EAH was to create an Asian Cultural Center, where all Asian based countries, over 80, could exhibit, in a museum setting, their cultural contributions to the world. However, The Way Museum, would also offer low cost or free, classes to children and adults, who want to learn from our visiting lecturers, any of our featured programs. It is our hope to have local college and university scholars lecture frequently.

Expanding beyond Martial Arts, classes would include training and lectures on painting, sculpture, music, poetry, dance, architecture, literature and theater, just to name a few. A free mentor program will be supported by other various groups to help guide our youth towards a better foundation of values and personal goals.

Our goal now is to raise funding to purchase a structure of approximately 10,000 square feet, in the Eustis, Florida area, to start housing in-kind donations of Asian Art, already in storage  and waiting for a permanent home. There will be martial arts training of various styles and monthly seminars and tournaments, broadcast live on Facebook.

Next,  our goal will be to move to a larger facility within a hotel and conference center, already in the planning stages, but a couple years from now, when construction is finished. This hotel will be an homage to  Frank Lloyd Wrights, Imperial Tokyo Hotel, but in a more modern concept.  As we establish a member base and annual support, our final destination is  the rendering for our 30,000 square foot building, to be located in the Orlando area. This will be the largest Museum of its kind in the world.

As a 501 C 3, patrons and donors are able to donate cash or in-kind items of interest for display and receive an IRS tax deduction. Patrons may also display their collections on a "loan" arrangement, to share for public view, in a secure setting.

Management of the EAH, will be by a Board of Directors and a General Manager to oversee the physical structure as well as Curator.

This has been a dream for us for many decades and we are excited to see our first steps to make it a reality. Please help us make it a reality.
