Landslide Recovery: San Marcos La Laguna

A landslide struck San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala on October 6, killing 4 people and injuring 10. 103 families  (600+ individuals) in the local Mayan community have evacuated their homes, and many have lost all of their possessions. Rescue teams are moving in to search for survivors. There is an immediate need for funds to cover the costs of disaster management, medical services, food, and temporary lodging.


Wellkind Guatemala is now on the ground in San Marcos La Laguna, organizing staple foods, clothing and blankets for the town; delivering meals to rescue teams and displaced people; and providing other forms of community support.  Your donation will help us respond to pressing needs in this evolving situation and help the community rebuild.
