Shari James - Medical Bills and Recovery

As many of you know, on September 21st Shari got home from work at Berardi's and began to have extreme headaches, accompanied by stroke-like symptoms. She was sent to Firelands hospital that day and upon arrival, it was determined that she had bleeding on her brain, but the exact cause was still unknown.  After a night in the hospital, her condition continued to worsen, so the decision to life flight her to University Hospital in Cleveland was made. Once at University Hospital, it was determined that she had an aneurysm which had been leaking, causing subarachnoid hemorrhaging and several other associated complications. After undergoing a few procedures, the medical staff at UH was able to clip the aneurysm to stop any bleeding and allow for recovery to begin.

Since this type of injury poses such a high risk for complications, she has spent the past 2+ weeks in the ICU where staff is available for constant monitoring. There have been ups and downs, but overall she has progressed wonderfully and she has recently been transitioned into a step-down unit where we hope she will be discharged to return home in the very near future. Although she is improving every day, there is still quite a bit of recovery that will need to take place before she can return to any type of normal life. We are hoping to be able to raise money to assist her in any way that we can while she is unable to work so that we can lighten the burden and allow her to focus on recovery.
