What on earth is the meaning of that unpronounceable word Diagonality?

                          (DI•AG•ON•AL•I•TY)

Beginning when I was a student of architecture at the University of Pennsylvania (1957-1963), I began studying a “hidden-in-plain-sight” cultural phenomenon that I came to label Diagonality. Although initially unseen by most people when the concept is first mentioned, this design motif has been transforming the worlds of architecture, art, and science. For 12 decades Diagonality has dramatically reshaped the geometry of design and the built environment. It has profoundly influenced disciplines such as urban design, fashion, jewelry, fine arts, product design, and popular culture.

The Museum’s thirty-three galleries trace Diagonality’s history from ancient civilizations such as Egypt to the present through articles, photographs, and drawings.

Creating and maintaining a virtual museum of this scope requires outside funding. GoFundMe contributions will be used for educational outreach, website maintenance, and further content development. Contributions will also support the creation of new and important exhibits for the Museum galleries.

We invite you to visit the museum at DDVM.org/home/ and those of us involved in creating and expanding the Daring Diagonal Virtual Museum hope you are able to make a modest contribution to help us share the surprising and evolving world of DIAGONALITY with museum visitors from around the world.
