Raising funds to release MORE fun, upbeat music

The first song is out, and now it's off to the races. I mean marathons.
Well, I'll start by saying I'm raising funds so I can consistently release cool music you'll probably like, whether that's now or later.
It takes tons of time and tons of money to put out good tunes, and one has to figure out how to keep that side in balance. There are things I'm good at like songwriting, recording, lyrics, and things I am not yet, like song production, mixing, mastering. Those things I often do what I can and then hire out, where as the other things I just spend lots of time on. As well as spending time on learning proficiency in what I am lacking. I also have a full time job, and have to maintain decent sleep and exercise which I've recently learned can be quite a challenge when your plate is already full.
I decided to keep this Go Fund Me up for a while, because why not, and I can keep posting progress on here, and continue to see how awesome each of you are too haha.
So my first song is out, and if you haven't heard I suggest you go do so. (Watch above). It's out now on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and many other platforms. It has about 20k streams so far, and the official music video has over 5k views upon writing this. This year was full of "firsts" for me. It was crazy but it really helped me burst through all my walls, and go all in. Only regret I've had is not doing it sooner. First time writing and directing a music video which turned out fantastic, especially rushed and in such a short time stint to work with. First time actually releasing a song. First time doing all that weird non musician stuff that an artist, manager, or label might do, such as writing to blogs, or playlists... setting up and running effective ads. Creating custom business cards. I've spent hours on every aspect of being an artist and there is definitely a steep learning curve. I've got a lot to learn and there is a lot of trial and error, plus time and capital involved in order to hone in what works well and what doesn't.
To give a glimpse of what this entails, my first single release began by writing a song, with strong lyric and melody, the instruments (drums, bass, guitar, synths) recording it, sending it to a producer I could trust, recording better pro quality vocals, filming and directing an accompanying music video, and marketing the release so it can reach its maximum potential. So the last thing you want is a quiet release.
One song has dedicated many hours, full days and even weeks, of time from me and everyone involved in its process.
It's more like months now, because after its release, I have to continue talking to people about it and do my best to get it some good publicity. I'm a strong believer that we create our own luck in actually being prepared for the right things at the right times.

So... I then plan on releasing songs bimonthly so each has room to “breathe”.

A little about me: I’m Ristlynn, I write songs, and have a small library of about 30 so far. Having been both trained and self taught, I’ve been playing music since I was a teenager. I first started on bass, learned to sing, and picked up a little guitar and synth along the way. My background is in rock. I’ve played in metal bands, and now I enjoy writing unique spins on upbeat, original, angsty pop songs. Look forward to hearing some elements of blues, reggae, Latin, and rnb in future releases. Outside of music, I work full time, enjoy snowboarding, longboarding, video games, reading and Muay Thai. Although most of that time has been spent being a studio musician and a recording artist this past year.

Each song will cost about $1,000 give or take to bring from demo to studio quality.
(yes, it is a lot, but trust me, its completely worth it.)
Each song will have a video of some sort. Be it a lyric video, animation, or full fledged music video. Music videos will range anywhere between $300-$1k depending on what we need, equipment, actors, props, etc. Lyric/ animation videos may only be $200 or less, depending on the quality, and complexity. ( I made my own lyric vid where the artwork moves and the lyrics stream as subtitles and it was free, but that would be considered lower end quality compared to some projects). The last music video totaled at $700 for filming, editing and post production, props, scheduling, food and refreshments. It was also planned and shot in less than 2 weeks, which is an extremely short amount of time and not usually recommended for that caliber of video.

Marketing will be no less than $500 monthly, though results are likely to multiply with an even higher budget.

In a nutshell, I’ll alternate 1 month: song release, video, and marketing...
And 1 month will be marketing only...

This goal will let me release 3-4 songs, with lyric videos or animations, and cover marketing expenses for the duration of 6-8 months.

I will also be contributing from my own earnings and savings outside of this fundraiser too.

     What I'm working on now:
2 songs, 1 is more guitar oriented, maybe a little lofi-y with some 808, and the other is uh idk but it’s cool. 1 is almost finished, I just tracked vocals in the booth for it. I'm getting pretty stoked for it. The other song, is a personal - if maybe a little ambiguous-  take on this year, 2020, is coming along well, and it should be ready to track vocals for soon. I had a heavier hand in the production of this track, but it is still getting a good lift by my producer, I'm still a Jedi apprentice. I want to release 1 of these songs mid January. I have no set release yet as I only like to spill the beans when I know everything is ready. I will be playlist pitching to Spotify, which takes 1-4 weeks, and you must submit the finished song to them, so that takes extra time too, but it is worth it eventually.
I'm also writing a script/screenplay for the next music video, which is much more involved, and could take 2-3 months from start to video completion. Also have another video to write, this time featuring a brand collaborator (no spoilers lol).

New gear I plan on buying and implementing:
-a super powerful new Macbook pro ( to handle todays high intensive musical workloads on the system, and future proof.
-New monitor for editing: got this, its so helpful!
-Iphone 12 pro and accessories: For higher quality diy type videos, I plan on learning more about filming my own content.
-A better microphone: there is a right kind, and then there is a good right kind. This should add the cherry on top for vocal quality in the studio.

If my story caught your attention, I hope that you will consider contributing to my venture. Any support is greatly appreciated. This has been a lifelong dream that I would love to see take flight. Thank you.
