Lily's Journey

Donation protected
The Nyboer family's nightmare came true just days ago when their brave six year old daughter, Lily, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. On the night of October 7th, Lily was rushed to the emergency room at the Peterborough hospital with critical blood work results. She was airlifted to Sick Kids in Toronto at 4am on the morning of October 8th. After receiving 3 units of blood and 3 units of platelets, she underwent a bone marrow aspirate and lumbar puncture, with chemotherapy starting shortly after.

In less than 48 hours, our dear friend's world has turned upside down. Lily will be staying at Sick Kids for treatment and chemo for at least the next month, and her treatment will continue for the next 2-3 years.

Ryan, Amanda, Luke and Lily live hours away from Sick Kids in Toronto. The cost and logistics of travel, accommodations, treatment, maintenance, lost income, caring for little brother Luke, and other expenses will start to pile up very soon. Please consider donating to help them offset these costs so they can focus on what is most important: taking care of Lily and helping her through what is sure to be a difficult road ahead.

Lily has benefited greatly from several units of blood products once she arrived at Sick Kids. Please consider donating blood to help her and other children and adults recover and heal from devastating illness or accidents.

Thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and healing energy are appreciated at all times while Lily and her family go through the unimaginable.
