When Chad was in Nigeria in 2018 to build our 1st toilet facility, he was touring the village, Adejubu, with some dignitaries. As they were walking, a small girl around the age of 3 came running out of her home, and right near her door, she emptied her bowels. She was suffering from diarrhea. Never again will she have to suffer the humiliation of this scenario, or take the risk to her health and safety.
We empower people by building much needed water and sanitation facilities and through various education initiatives.
It is estimated that nearly 50 million Nigerians practice open defecation, with less than half of homes having a toilet facility. Open defecation brings with it significant health risks, and is linked to deaths from diarrhoea, cholera, and typhoid. It is also a risk factor for violence against women and girls who, for example, may need to leave home in the dark to find somewhere to defecate.
We are on a mission to end that. Please join us in the fight to bring dignity, health, and safety to the people we work with, and the people of a country that we have grown to love and cherish.
Every cent of your donation will help our privately funded nonprofit to build toilets, drill boreholes, and educate children.
We aim to distribute the money as follows:
$2000 to toilet facilities (5 or more outhouse style toilets with hand washing station)
$2000 to water facilities (1-2 boreholes drilled)
$1000 to pay for children's school fees (10 or more children's school fees paid)
We will identify the communities and people that need this type of support, and keep you informed of projects via our website and social media. If you wish to sponsor a particular project or want to sponsor a student, we will do that, too, and provide you with regular updates on the work.
Even the smallest of donations will have a serious impact in the lives of those we work with.
