Marathon for Rob Burrow

Donation protected
UPDATE: We finished the marathons in both Madrid and Leeds on Saturday. Thank you all so much for your support. We are keeping this page open for further donations until 20 November and will then transfer the funds to Leeds Rhinos' page for Rob.

**************

Rob Burrow was a rugby league player for Leeds Rhinos for over 15 years, retiring in 2017. He was a crowd favourite thanks to his diminutive size, speed and bravery. Last year, Rob was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND). He is not yet 40 years old and has three children aged under 10 with his wife.

Rob was a hero to us on the pitch and he is a hero off the pitch, using his time to raise awareness of MND and fighting his illness like the true champion he is.

Our family wanted to do something to try and support Rob and his young family, and we have decided to walk full marathons (42.2km) in Leeds (UK) and Madrid (Spain) on 7 November, starting at the same time. Three of us will be walking in Madrid, including Izzy who is aged 8, and seven of us in Leeds, aged from 12 to 62.

We ask you to donate and support a great player and a great person. He and his family deserve it.
