Paying Tribute to Our Dad Ely Sonny F. Orquiza Sr.

On October 13, 2020 Ely F. Orquiza Sr. a father, brother and a prominent person to various communities in San Francisco and in the Philippines passed away due to a heart attack. He was 72 years old.
He was an avid golfer who spent the majority of his time doing what he loved. Ely played golf professionally here in San Francisco, California and back in his homeland, the Philippines. Over the years he has established himself as a well respected golf player, participating in many tournaments and creating a community of his own. His love for his home country kept him coming back year after year to reconnect and reestablish his relationships with his relatives and loved ones.
He is well described as someone who is generous. He was a hard-working person who made sure his family was stable and supported the best way he could. He financially supported his family living in America and back in the Philippines. He sacrificed a lot when times were difficult, but he made sure others were financially set before him. “Ely is the kindest brother out of all of my siblings,” says his sister Leduvina. He was giving with what he had and made sure of his immediate family and relatives had something to sustain themselves no matter what.
Our family wants to send off our father in the best way that we can, but unfortunately during this critical time in the middle of a pandemic where family members are having a hard time to make ends meet, it is difficult to provide a proper burial for our father Ely Sonny Orquiza Sr. Our family is asking for any donations to help with expenses regarding his burial. The expense will cover the following: property, endowment and care fee, documentation fee, opening and closing fee. Our family is aiming to raise the funds by this weekend, but any amount that is raised would highly be appreciated and would help the family during this difficult time of grieving.
