Towards a better future for Kilifi

Donation protected
100% of donations reach the kids in Kenya!

What do we want to do?
Our mission is to enable the community of Matsangoni in Kenya to have a better future. Currently, the community of Matsangoni suffers from a lack of:
  • access to education (34% of the population can neither read nor write)
  • food and nutrition (40% of the population are unable to meet minimum food requirements)
  • sustainable income
  • availability of jobs

In partnership with Swiss NGO “School4Life”, we strive to implement a project that will lead to improved nutrition, more and better access to education, and increased employment for the local community. Thereby, we tackle the United Nations Sustainability Goals #1 No Poverty, #2 Zero Hunger, #3 Good Health and Well-Being, and #4 Quality Education.

How do we want to achieve that?
We want to achieve this by creating a sustainable revenue source for the Matsangoni community. With the help of donations, we will build a chicken farm that eventually becomes a circular economic business. The products of the chicken farm can either be consumed to improve the nutrition situation of the school children or be sold locally. Obtained earnings can then be utilised to pay the teacher’s salary and to reinvest in the farm.
So, we will build a chicken farm which will have a lasting impact on the Matsangoni community. Thus, we will create:
• A source of food for the local children
• Financial support for educational materials and teacher salaries via the sale of surplus eggs
• Jobs for teachers and farmers

Where will it take place?
We support the activities of the School4Life NGO in the community of Matsangoni, Kilifi, Kenya.

Who are we?
The SIMilili Team is a diverse group of seven students of the Master in Strategy and International Management (SIM) at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), striving to have a positive social impact with our work.

Namely, we are Elena (Germany), Dora (China), Daniel (Germany), Eva (Slovenia), Adam (Morocco), Franck (Switzerland), and Milosz (Poland).
Together with our local partners, we are working every day to make our vision happen. We are currently raising funds and will be on the ground in April 2023 to help build the farm.

Together with your contributions, we are convinced we can create a better future for Kilifi!
Thank you for your donation!

Sincerely,
Elena, Dora, Daniel, Eva, Adam, Franck, and Milosz
