Support Cal-Wood Education Center

Tax deductible

Over half the land at Cal-Wood Education Center in Jamestown, CO was completely obliterated by Saturday's wildfire. The good news – the main lodge and cabin structures have been protected and all staff and visitors are safe. Cal-Wood has already been hanging on by a financial thread due to the on-going COVID-19 crisis limiting the amount of student groups able to go to Cal-Wood. We must act quickly to save Cal-Wood and allow it to maintain programming for Colorado kids!

Cal-Wood has been struck by tragedy before. The organization has been able to re-build after the 2013 floods and has been creatively working to serve its mission of connecting students to the Colorado mountains during an already very difficult time.  We are the crew that helped Cal-Wood survive the flood, and we are reconnecting to help them now.

We are asking our friends and family to share this campaign as far and wide as possible. Any donation is wired directly to Cal-Wood Education Center. NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL. If you could donate $5, we would be so grateful. The organization is in desperate need of financial support to continue programming during COVID-19 and to now help rebuild and reinstitute programming after this devastating wildfire. Let's raise $50K for Cal-Wood TODAY to show our support during this traumatic time.

Cal-Wood is a pillar of Colorado's environmental education world. Without it, thousands of kids each year would likely never learn first-hand about nature and our mountains. It is also an incredibly special place for so many families that have benefitted from Cal-Wood's summer programs. We are counting on you to help provide support for this unique and meaningful organization.

We are:
- Former employees and current supporters of Cal-Wood
- Friends of our fearless and committed leader, Rafael Salgado who has stayed on site to direct and feed all the firefighters battling the fire from Cal-Wood
- From Boulder County, Colorado
- Funds will be spent on the organization's immediate operational needs, on-going land management, rebuilding roads, clearing debris from the fires, building new trails – all with the larger goal of reconnecting students to the Colorado Mountains.

More information about Cal-Wood Education Center: Cal-Wood’s mission is to offer a unique outdoor educational experience to youth and adults in a manner that will carry on the vision of Roger and Oral Calvert. To this end Cal-Wood’s goals are: (1) to help all who come to Cal-Wood develop a greater appreciation for the natural world; (2) to offer environmental education to those who would not otherwise experience it; and (3) to provide unique educational opportunities in a special mountain setting.
