Free Tutoring for Elementary School Students in Need
Our names are Molly Warholic and Elaina Jones, and we are seniors at Middleton High School (MHS). We are active members of our community and student leaders in various programs at MHS. We are developing a free, student-to-student tutoring program to supplement the virtual learning platform in our school district. Elementary students in particular would benefit from support in their online schooling, and we have developed a program to solve this issue: Next Chapter Academic Tutoring (NCAT). This program would offer a safe, encouraging environment for elementary school students to access wifi and in-person tutoring services from Middleton High School volunteers. We will also provide a virtual option for students who are unable to attend in-person sessions. NCAT will create meaningful connections between students and philanthropic organizations within our community, and enrich the educational experiences of students in the district.
We are raising money to maintain our program for the upcoming school year and beyond. Through donations last year we were able to tutor almost 100 elementary students! With more donations, we will provide activities and supplies for the students as well as resources to further their learning. We would also welcome donations of masks, hand sanitizer, antibacterial soap and wipes, calculators, elementary-level reading books, pencils, pens, and notebooks.
