Hi, my name is Mandy on the behalf of a good friend I am setting up this GoFundme Page. My friend Tammy has been hospitalized for over a month. Given her circumstances, Tammy is an amazing person with a caring heart who is always willing to give a helping hand and would give you the shirt off her back.On a Wednesday Sep 16th, Tammy was not feeling well, and next morning she went to the ER to get checked out. Within 3 hours she was rushed to Mass General Hospital with abnormal blood work. Shortly after she was given the diagnosis that would turn her world upside down, something no-one would wish for - Leukemia. It has been over a month and she is still admitted to Mass General Hospital. She has been treated with chemotherapy and platelet donations, as well as numerous other medications. She is still receiving treatment and was hoping to be coming home soon. Recent updates from the doctors lead us to believe she will need to remain inpatient for another month or more.
Tammy is a proud mother of two kids, 12 and 15, who she loves dearly. Prior to this situation, she worked with youth in a residential program. She loves cooking for her family and has learned hospital food just is not the same as her home cooked meals.
Through all of this Tammy remains positive but the financially stress is taking a toll on her. Tammy has been out of work for over a month and is unsure when she will be allowed to return. We are asking for donation to help Tammy with her medical journey and help her family moving forward. Donations will alleviate some of the financial stress placed on the family, but they will continue to help her with her cancer battle. We know Tammy is a warrior, and she will fight this battle to the end
