BUY one GIFT one to Help the Homeless
Help Us Help America's Forgotten
Just four short years ago, our Founder, Peter Kelleher, lost his son to his opioid addiction. His son died homeless and alone on the streets of Bangor, Maine. Wrought with grief, Peter felt he had to do SOMETHING to help others suffering from addiction. He also wishes to protect the loved ones of addicts living on the streets from ever having to endure that same fateful phone call.
Presently, more than 550,000 United States citizens are experiencing homelessness and have limited or no access to the everyday services and privileges many of us take for granted. This number is expected to increase exponentially over the next two years, as a result of the COVID19 pandemic.
Changing the Way the World Gifts
We need $5,000.00 to build an inventory for our Buy One Gift One website .
Soupman Essentials was developed to connect corporations and individuals to a marketplace of unique items, made in the USA, to benefit the homeless. For every item you purchase a blanket (or other useful essential item) is donated to New England’s homeless population.
We have curated some of the most unique gift-giving items from vendors across the United States. ALL of our vendors profits from their proceeds go to support a charitable cause. For example, our custom soaps from Oregon are organically crafted with palm oil from South America, in order to preserve integrity of Southeast Asia forests. Our vegan candles are produced by a firm whose profits go to combat sex trafficking.
The Impact
Through our corporate gifting program, we provide corporate entities and business professionals with high quality goods that people will love to give and love to receive. Our goal is to convert the $90 billion per year corporate gifting industry into support of charitable causes. We are providing a service to corporations to purchase gifts that give back- without placing a burden on their marketing budget.
Individuals may also make purchases from our new website.
Risks & Challenges
After an extensive search for made in the USA products, we have discovered that some of our vendors are too small to accommodate drop delivery without substantial lead time. We would like to alleviate that burden by building our own inventory to meet the demands of holiday gift purchasing.
We would also like to maintain an in-house inventory for continued growth.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you are unable to help us reach our goal, we ask that you consider making an online contribution to our non-profit organization Support the Soupman
