***Latest Update (10.31.2020)*** Fam -- It has been a LONG while since I updated y'all about my top surgery plans. I had to postpone (2nd time) my top surgery for July 2020 because my work insurance denied my claim. I was able to fundraise a good amount but not enough to cover the full cost. Fast forward to now - so many things have happened, I got laid off from work. I've had to use the money I fundraised for basic needs and expenses like rent, bills and food. I was able to schedule a new appointment for top surgery 12/15/2020, 46 days from now. I was able to get insurance on my own expensive but worth it because the insurance would cover 80% of the cost. I now have to pay $2910 co-pay due on 11/23/2020 to be able to have my top surgery. I am hoping I can fundraise enough here to pay that 3 weeks from now.
I am also open to getting a care credit loan. However, my credit is poor and would need a cosigner. Please
help me get this life changing surgery. Anything helps community! Thank you for your continued love and support! ❤️✊

Hello loving community! This is Ai Liwanag Santos. Ai (eye) means LOVE. Liwanag (lih-wah-nug), my chosen name, means BRIGHT ☺️. I have been on a healing journey since I was 14yo. Many tough challenges and amazing blessings have come my way including being a survivor of sexual violence, growing up in foster care, being a first generation immigrant, supporting myself since I was 14yo, losing both my parents and grandparents at 28. I have learned deeply and experientially how to overcome adversity. A major adversity is the realization of being trans non-binary and understanding, accepting myself for who I am. To get closer to self-acceptance, I have decided to go through a life changing experience, top surgery - a long time coming for me. This life changing surgery will allow me to be closer to my true self, be comfortable in my body, propel my journey of self-love/self-healing, and be imminently life saving for me. The care I need is out of network. So the surgeon requires payment out of pocket first. The entire top surgery costs $10,000 out of pocket . I’m working on saving what I can but it has been REALLY challenging and I know I won’t make the cut off date when the $10K is due — in May. Please help me get this life changing surgery.
