Inaugural Campaign - LGBTQIA Center
We would love your support of a Community Center geared for friends and family of the LGBTQIA community. All allies, family, friends, and those who want to learn are able to come and explore. It will be a place where all are welcome to come and learn about life, the arts, buy coffee, make friends, and learn new skills.
This fundraiser covers the following:
1) Water, electric, switchover of swamp cooler to heater
2) Insurance
3) Cleaning and moving supplies
4) Office supplies (paper, printer, 1 computer) and chairs
5) Racks for clothing and storage
6) Inspection and licensing costs
7) Media costs (webpage, software, auction)
8) Hanging of mirrors
9) Paint, paint supplies, concrete, weather strips, and handiwork
10) Internet
We hope to bring you the community space to address the social, artistic, and educational needs of our community.
The space will have a mini theater, a dance hall, a small place to read / hangout, a mini-market, and cafe offerings. Every month, we anticipate having plays, shows, film noir, burlesque, workshops, dance classes, and gallery nights. Other times we hope to do LGBTQIA themed events or new play readings.
We plan to showcase local arts and crafts: painters, playwrights, directors, crafters, dancers, teachers, writers, and culture.
Some parts of our community’s events need large rooms, while some community members need a large space for shows, screen plays, movie date nights, or a chance to be tucked away in a social space.
We believe in giving people the opportunity to shine, learn, and embrace themselves to the extent they want to... to see themselves as the norm.
We need your support to help bring this vision to life and to sustain it as an integral part of our community.
All donations will be earmarked only for this space, bringing the space to life, and sustaining its future.
All Capital campaign donors will be recognized on our website and on our Donors Wall when we open. We will let you know if your contribution qualifies for tax exempt by December 2020 as we have applied for a 501c3.
Thank you!
