A Precious Life Cut Too Short

With a very heavy and broken heart, Bill and I share the sudden death of our beloved godson Nathan Mintz at the age of 24 on October 27, 2020.

Nathan's parents, Gord and Margaret Mintz, brothers - Josh and Joel, grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins, and friends deeply mourn the loss of this amazing young man.

Nathan was truly loved by all and always had a kind, tender, and giving spirit.  He was creative, hardworking, talented, sensitive, athletic, and was known for his infectious sense of humour.

Nathan also suffered from depression.

His pain became a burden he felt unable to bear, and he chose to end his life.   His family is courageously sharing their story to recognize Nathan’s battle and to let others know that they are not alone and that it is ok to talk about this very real struggle that affects so many lives.

We have started a GoFundMe to honor and support Nathan and his family.

The proceeds raised will be in support of the following:

>Funeral Costs

>Expenses Settling Nathans Personal Affairs

>Family Grief Services

>Establishing a Permanent Memorial on the Blue Mountain Resort Property, which Nathan Loved.  (In Memory Lane Legacy Park or a Commemorative Tree on the Golf Course where Nathan was often found working or playing)

>Any remaining surplus will be directed to the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH) in support of Mental Health Care and Research

A Message From Nathan's Family:

“We are devastated but so grateful for the prayers, support, acts of kindness that have been extended to us at this time.  We also know that though Nathan may have lost this Mental Health battle, he now knows the fullness of the bigger battle that has already been won for him as he enters into the eternal love, joy, peace, and healing of Our Lord and Saviour.”

We Thank You.

Thank you for your kindness on behalf of the Mintz family.

I've included a few pictures we have of Nathan with our girls/family growing up.  He was the sweetest friend from day one!  Treasured friendship.
