Help single dad of 2 sets of twins

Donation protected
Yaroslav (right) was 48 years old. We are asking your support right now for a family who is grieving and in need.

John O'Mahony
from Washington, DC and Yaroslav Koporulin from Moscow, Russia met in 1995. About a year later, they were together and never been apart since -- a couple for almost 25 years. Days after US Supreme Court made gay marriage legal in 2013, they were married. Though in their eyes, they were a family many years prior.

Both John and Yara wanted to have kids, and tried to adopt several times without luck. Finally, with surrogacy possible for anyone, they were able to start their family -- first set of twin girls was born in May 2016, and the second set of twin boys in January 2019. They became the first gay couple in the USA to have 2 sets of twins!! Being a talented artist , Yara started teaching art and drawing in American University (American University contact ). Life never looked better and brighter...

Before their sons were born, happy fathers and their story made headlines in Washington Blade paper:

Unfortunately, life delivers blows when we have plans. Almost on the same day their sons were born, Yaroslav was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. Washington Post featured their journey in January of this year:

After fighting this terrible disease for almost 2 years, Yaroslav passed away on October 24th at Georgetown hospital in DC. He was 48 years old. John became a widower with 4 children under the age of 5. Yaroslav was concerned that his kids would not remember him when they grow up. Sadly this may be true... but for John, Yaroslav's legacy will be forever present times 4 ! Especially because one of their sons is a spitting image of his loving, now absent, dad.

Please donate to John, Violet, Claire, Evan and Damian. Your kindness and generosity will help John to deal with the funeral and a lot of other expenses coming his way during this unbearable time of loss and grieving for his beloved husband of almost 25 years. Rest In Power, dear friend
