Durante los días 10 al 13 de diciembre de 2020, un grupo de voluntarios.as nos proponemos llevar a cabo la primera edición del Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos de Vieques. Esta oportunidad inaugural, contaremos con una oferta híbrida, que incluye cineastas locales, artistas, músicos viequenses, colaboraciones con festivales de cine y derechos humanos en América Latina y el mundo; entre proyecciones presenciales en espacios abiertos de Vieques, talleres en línea y presentaciones virtuales.
El Festival de Cine y Derechos Humanos de Vieques (FCDHV) es una propuesta que surge como un medio de comunicación y empoderamiento comunitario. Donde la educación, cultura y el arte sirven como vía para la transformación social. Una herramienta para facilitar el acceso a la cultura pero también para educar en derechos, al tiempo que se adquieren conocimientos de cine, medios, comunicación y ciudadanías activas. Los participantes, además de acceder al cine para su disfrute, verán en esta oportunidad el aprendizaje y la sensibilización, para todas las edades, en un entorno de inclusión, diversidad y celebración de derechos. Este evento tendrá su lanzamiento el 10 de diciembre de 2020 (Día Internacional de los Derechos Humanos) y se extenderá hasta el 13 de diciembre, con proyecciones virtuales y presenciales en espacios abiertos, talleres virtuales y experiencias culturales para todas las edades.
El festival, de carácter internacional, pretende ser un espacio de potenciación y fortalecimiento de proyectos cinematográficos locales e iniciativas centradas en los o con perspectiva de derechos humanos, resaltando el rol de las comunidades en la concreción y consolidación de los derechos humanos, la memoria, la verdad y la justicia.
Estamos solicitando donativos que nos permitan coordinar la logística y suplir los materiales necesarios para llevar adelante estas experiencias educativas y culturales. Nuestro fin es recaudar los fondos que permitan al festival desarrollarse en su primera edición, con los costos que ello implica en términos de diseño de imagen, materiales promocionales, educativos, de difusión y logística. Nuestro objetivo es crear una oportunidad de disfrute educativo interdisciplinario e intergeneracional que permita un diálogo profundo sobre el futuro de nuestros derechos humanos, desde y con nuestras comunidades, soñando a través del cine un futuro que podemos crear.

From December 10 to 13, 2020, a group of volunteers are intending to action the first edition of the Vieques Film and Human Rights Festival (FCDHV). In this inaugural opportunity, we will have a hybrid offer, which includes local filmmakers, artists, Viequense musicians, collaborations with film festivals and human rights in Latin America and the world; between face-to-face screenings in Vieques, online workshops and virtual presentations.
The Vieques Film and Human Rights Festival (FCDHV) is a proposal that arises as a means of communication and community empowerment. Where education, culture and art serve as a path for social transformation. A tool to facilitate access to culture but also to educate on rights, while acquiring knowledge of cinema, media, communication and active citizenship. The participants, in addition to accessing the cinema for their enjoyment, will see in this opportunity learning and raising awareness, for all ages, in an environment of inclusion, diversity and celebration of rights. This event will have its launch on December 10, 2020 (International Human Rights Day) and will run until December 13, with virtual and face-to-face screenings in open spaces, virtual workshops and cultural experiences for all ages.
The international festival aims to be a space for the empowerment and strengthening of local film projects and initiatives focused on or with a human rights perspective, highlighting the role of communities in the realization and consolidation of human rights, memory, truth and justice.
We are requesting donations that allow us to coordinate logistics and supply the necessary materials to carry out these educational and cultural experiences. Our purpose is to raise the funds that allow the festival to develop in its first edition, with the costs that this implies in terms of image design, promotional, educational, diffusion and logistics materials. Our goal is to create an opportunity for interdisciplinary and intergenerational educational enjoyment that allows a deep dialogue about the future of our human rights, from and with our communities, dreaming through cinema a future that we can create.
