Larry’s Final Expenses

Donation protected
On Thursday, November 5, 2020, Lawrence Elbaum, passed away at the age of 72.  Larry was born on May 8, 1948 in Squirrel Hill to Bernie Elbaum and Leatrice “Sis” (Kardon) Brown.  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, then Duquesne University, going on to work as a psychotherapist specializing in addiction for a career spanning nearly 40 years. In 1982, he married Nancy Parme; two years later, the birth of their son, Lucas, brought a new light into their lives, followed by the joyous birth of their beautiful daughter, Juliette, seven years later.  Larry was a friend, ally and confident to many in the Pittsburgh arts community and beyond. His love of music, film and the arts was infectious to his family and friends, many of whom would be forced to admit, “I heard it from Larry first.”   He is survived by his mother, his wife and two children, his brother Robert, and all those who will miss him dearly.   Friends and family are invited to remember and celebrate Larry’s life outdoors at the Vietnam Veterans Pavilion in Schenley Park (Schenley Park, Vietnam Veteran's Pavilion Driveway, Pittsburgh, PA 15207) on Tuesday, November, 10, 1- 4:30pm.  Please wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to support his family’s expenses and Nancy’s future expenses by way of this gofundme. “And now I'm set free/I'm set free/I'm set free to find a new illusion.” -The Velvet Underground
