RCV - Risca CV19 Volunteers are supporting the most vulnerable people in our community, we are running lots of community projects and also hoping to refurbish the old Rolling Mill to become our community hub.
We work to ensure that no-one in our community is lonely, hungry or frightened.
Whilst we started as a reaction to covid, the services we provide are very much needed in our area anyway. From shopping to prescription collection to kindness calls to check in and lift spirits; we will do whatever we can to help.
We support around 160 families and individuals from Rogerstone to Wattsville and beyond. We have just over 190 volunteers registered with us and they make over 150 kindness telephone calls every week.
Additionally, we run projects like the School Uniform Recycle Shop, our emergency food parcels, digitally inclusive workshops and training, wellbeing afternoon teas, a pumpkin trail, online kids talent competitions.
For Christmas we will be launching our Children's Toy appeal for our local hospitals and Noah's Ark, we will have a wish tree full of gift tags which people can take, buy small gifts and return to us. These gifts are for our vulnerable people and homeless youngsters who we support. We will also be running a Cwtch in a Box which will be packs of hats, socks, blankets, scarves, hot chocolate, mince pies, for our elderly and vulnerable people.

We work with many partner organisations like ALUK, ABUHB IWN, CCBC, PoBL Group Ltd, GAVO, PMW Services Ltd, Business In The Community, Trussell Trust and many, many more.
Some of these organisations help us to ensure that we are covid safe and legally compliant at all times.
In order to continue doing what we do, we need our own premises; and we have been offered the ground floor of the Rolling Mill, which is an old pub, and is in need of a full refurbishment.
So we need help please.
