BLACK HEALTH & WEALTH SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Influential Team (IT) is a non-profit organization founded in 2017 based in Toronto, Ontario. IT connects local and international professionals and entrepreneurs with at-risk youth. We strongly feel that by putting a face and a story to a career that may seem unattainable to them, helps break down that fear, and builds the belief that they can achieve greatness as well. IT's initiatives include hosting mentorship events and providing post-secondary/career planning as well as our newest initiative; providing annual scholarships to Black youth. 

The annual scholarship fund is a new initiative created to provide funding for Black students interested in pursuing post-secondary education in Canada. We have partnered with Albion Neighbourhood Services (ANS) to offer scholarships to students currently enrolled in one of their community programs. 

ANS is a longstanding community organization located in the heart of Rexdale, which is known to be one of the most at-risk neighbourhoods in the GTA. ANS works in partnership with the community to enhance peoples' lives through the delivery of programs, services, and supports that are engaging, accessible and responsive. 

Each year, IT plans to present scholarships of $1,000 - $5,000 to students who have demonstrated community involvement, leadership, and financial need. The applications for the 1st Annual Black Health and Wealth Scholarship will be released later this year.
