Fire at Ghana Business News

"Emmanuel Dogbevi is the most honest and committed journalist I know working in Africa (and I have known many), and a major contributor to financial and environmental global news. Supporting him and his team is like making an investment into the sustainability and welfare of Africa’s future." Will Guyster (MIT)

Dogbevi is one of the few independent journalists in Ghana and a respected member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ, the organisation behind the Panama and Paradise Papers and the Swiss and West Africa Leaks). He is also the managing editor of the website Ghana Business News.  Find out more about his motivations and methods in this interview .

Unfortunately, early November, his Accra office burned down and most of his equipment was destroyed: three laptops, two printers, a scanner, two audio recorders, furniture and furnishing, air conditioner, camera accessories and several books. Sadly, there was no insurance. Shortly before the national elections (Dec 7), a journalist should be caring about other stuff than material losses: your generosity is highly appreciated.
