Jessie Girl the Beagle
Donation protected
I adopted Jessie in 2012, she moved with us from Virginia to Hawaii a year later. She absolutely loves the weather and her yard. She appears to be 11-13 years old, which is young for a beagle.
A couple of years ago I noticed a small lump on her chest. Appeared to be a fatty lump, so I opted to keep an eye on it. Unfortunately I ended up becoming a single mother of two and finances were tight. I was able to keep up with annual shots, but nothing else for Jessie and her sister. Then in March I was furloughed from my bar job. When my back pay from UI hit I immediately took my girls to the vet.
From what they can tell, Jessie's lump is fatty. However it has grown into the size of a small pumpkin on her chest into her armpit. Medical expenses will run about $2000. She is getting older; I worry about her health and comfort. At this point in time, I do not know how I will come up with that kind of money on UI. I also do not know when I can go back to work. Hawaii is only at Tier 2, we're expecting another shutdown after Thanksgiving, and I am one of four high risk members in my household.
Like many people, I did not see myself in such a position of need. If you are able and willing to give please do so. If not please share this information and hold us in your thoughts. Your generosity is appreciated. Mahalo.
