Huracán ETA – Urge ayuda para Guatemala.
Más de 33 mil personas que vivían en 78 comunidades que quedaron incomunicadas por el paso del huracán ETA el pasado 7 de noviembre, necesitan alimentos, medicinas y medios de vida que les permitan reconstruir sus viviendas.
Café Pendiente Rayuela / La Olla Comunitaria Guatemala busca llevar ayuda a las áreas incomunicadas e inundadas que se encuentran en Alta Verapaz, principalmente en San Pedro Carchá y San Cristóbal Verapaz; en Izabal, donde los municipios más afectados son Los Amates y Morales.
Estudios realizados por Oxfam Guatemala dan cuenta que, los damnificados presentan graves problemas para acceder a agua, alimentos y servicios básicos. También hay 103 comunidades que se encuentran inundadas y otras 13 han sufrido derrumbes de tierra.
El impacto de Eta generará más pobreza y pobreza extrema, porque las áreas con mayores daños son los departamentos donde se registra la mayor cantidad de casos de desnutrición aguda. Por eso cada centavo que puedas donar cuenta. Con $1.00 alimentas a una persona y con $5.00 puedes ayudar a comprar insumos de higiene para una familia.
Además, en 90 municipios los cultivos fueron dañados por la lluvia y las inundaciones. Al menos 41 mil 698.68 hectáreas de siembra se perdieron. Esto significa que alrededor de 78 mil 896 personas se vieron afectadas, muchas de ellas son bebés, adultos mayores, personas con discapacidad y familias enteras que ya habían sido afectadas por el COVID-19.
