Sutton Christmas of Giving

Successful Sutton Business Improvement District (Enjoy Sutton) in partnership with Sutton New Town Community Festival and St Raphael's Hospice really wanted to deliver Christmas activities on Sutton High Street this year for everyone to enjoy. One of those activities, the Sutton New Town Christmas Tree Festival sadly can no longer take place.
Each year, local groups provide and decorate a tree to raise awareness and fundraising. Normally located at St Barnabas Church, we wanted to extend this to the High Street with several retailers participating.
Much like many of our local businesses, our local community groups and charities have struggled throughout the pandemic to raise much needed funds to deliver support or indeed to operate at all. All the while, continuing to provide services throughout the course of lockdown when it was more vital than ever before.
We owe them a s massive thank you and as much support as we can give them. So, we have decided to take our efforts virtual.
Up until Christmas we will be asking you to donate as little or as much as you can to helps us achieve our £5,000 target. At the end of December, the money we raise will be distributed to all our groups.
We would encourage you to look at whether you could do a sponsored activity in December at home or at work to help us in our goal. Share pictures on social media about what you are doing and tag us in use the hashtag #Suttonchristmasofgiving for your posts.
We will be sharing spotlight stories about the groups we are raising money for through social media on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Follow our @Enjoysutton, @SuttonNewTown and @straphaelshospice page for more information about these groups and the work that they do.
