THE BASEMENT needs your help

The Basement is a really special place. As an escape room, it is unmatched for realism, immersive design, technology, and of course, our incredibly talented live performers. More than just a collection of puzzles, The Basement is a Home. Yes, in the stories we tell, it is the home of a cannibalistic serial killer, but it’s also a home to a family of creators, actors, artists, and innovators. It’s a place for weirdos and strangers to become friends and survivors.  

The state of California and the city of Los Angeles have deemed escape rooms as “indoor family entertainment” and therefore we have been forced closed as of March of 2020. While we eagerly await the day we will be permitted to reopen, we face something far scarier than severed limbs and botched taxidermy: recurring, unavoidable expenses. But right now? The Basement’s grave is being dug for us, each rent check, insurance premium, and utility bill another shovel full of dirt.
