June 2023
In the past few months, I made a trip to Rome in order to meet and consult with my Canon Lawyer. Because of unforeseen delays, once again I am in need of financial aid in order to ensure that my recourse might reach a good end.
During this past year, my heart often overflows with praise and gratitude for how good our Lord is taking care of me during this time of trial. Your prayers, love, and support are truly instruments in the Hands of our Lord. Every day, as I walk with my rosary in hand and as I stand at the altar for Holy Mass, I ask the Lord to multiply His grace and blessings in your lives! Thank you!

December 2022
Reflecting upon the summer of 2020, our Lord was preparing my heart for this new season of my priesthood. As I would walk and pray the Rosary, He was teaching me how to pray. In the face of a pending trial or storm, to turn to Him with great confidence and love and to say to Him: Jesus, I am willing to suffer this for love of you! This acceptance of the trials that make up our lives allows the Lord Jesus to take us by the hand and to lead us forth. He broadens our horizons! At the same time, our Lord was placing in the depth of my heart a great hunger to see and experience all the good that He was to bring from this trial. This past year, Jesus has led me from blessing to blessing and Mother Mary has composed a canticle of praise in the depth of my being as I overflow with praise for all the good Jesus is working in my life and priesthood.

In January of 2022, I was blessed to serve for a month at St. Paul’s Catholic Parish and School in Weirton, WV. One of the great blessings of this season of my priesthood is that I am able with my Archbishop’s blessing to help out my brother priests by covering for their retreats and vacations. It was a great joy to be in one parish for a month. The Wednesday All School Mass was one of the highlights of my week. During this month, our Lord continually confirmed in me all the graces of my priesthood. I absolutely love to be His priest! I love to preach and teach His people. I love to wait for souls to be reconciled to our Lord in the confessional. I love to get to know God’s flock and family!

For most of the spring and summer, I was able to help out many of my brother priest friends in the Archdiocese of Detroit. Our Lord and my brother priests have been so good to me. It is such an honor to be a priest of Jesus Christ! I so look forward to preparing a Sunday and weekday homily, leading God’s people in the Rosary, and offering spiritual counsel in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

At the end of the summer, as I walked the foothills of Steubenville, OH, my heart overflowed with praise for all the blessings Jesus has showered on me during this past year. I was in Steubenville to do chaplaincy work with college students participating in a missionary formation program known as Inscape. It was a gift to be entrusted with a smaller portion of God’s flock and to be able to invest in these young souls as they discern our Lord’s call on their lives.

In the beginning of October, I began a two-month mission in Good Shepherd Parish in Driggs, Idaho. Together with the pastor, Fr. John Kucera, and the Sisters of Reparation from Steubenville, OH, we led a parish mission focused on our life of prayer. Every Sunday and even during the week, our homilies were focused on the Catechism of the Catholic Church’s teaching on prayer. The sisters and I were able to visit parishioners in their homes and I was able to bless their homes as well. One of my personal goals for this mission was to begin to learn Spanish and to be able to preach and offer the Holy Mass in Spanish. After my first homily in Spanish on November 2, 2022, God’s Holy People gave me an “A” for my Spanish!

Update

My heart overflows with gratitude that we have reached our goal to cover my legal expenses as I ask the Vatican to hear my recourse. The gratitude I experience is expressed in my constant prayers for all of you.

Because of the generosity of many and especially of a select few, I am confident that we have the sufficient funds to see the Vatican recourse to its conclusion. As I mentioned in an earlier update, I am asking the Vatican to review the grounds stated for my removal as pastor.

Our Lord continues to multiply His graces in my priesthood. I thank all of you for your generous gifts, for your prayers, and for your words of affirmation and encouragement. I love Jesus! I love His priesthood! And I love Holy Mother Church!

The timeline for the Vatican recourse could be as long as two to three years. If you would like to continue to support me financially, please make the check payable to Fr. Michael Suhy and mail it to: Father Michael Suhy, 47933 Wadebridge, Canton, MI 48187

In Jesus and Mary,
Fr. Michael
