#GivingTuesday with the Carlisle Theatre

The Carlisle Regional Performing Arts Center, known as the "Carlisle Theatre" or "Gem of Downtown Carlisle" is a 501(c)3 non-profit asking for your help to keep the arts alive in our community. 

We have learned, especially this year, that the arts are not an option, but a necessity to all. Carlisle, PA and the surrounding areas are a powerhouse of community spirit. Just like the fictional community of Bedford Falls that supported George Bailey ("It's a Wonderful Life") in his most critical time of need, we ask our community to help us keep our doors opens and offer a "wonderful" experience to you in 2021.

At all times, and especially during the pandemic, we have been working hard to keep theatrical content available to the public with free performances, live and virtual theatre education classes, website content for younger audiences, and partnering with different organizations & businesses. We have offered contests and competitions with prizes for talent to showcase their abilities--we've even had two virtual open mic night sessions where we've featured singer/songwriters, musical theatre performers, comedians, and musicians.

Thanks to our incredible community, we have been able to offer a virtual fall show--"Boogieban" by DC Fidler to honor our military & veterans, and are able to offer the classically inspired live radio show performance of "It's A Wonderful Live" at no cost as well. We are also offering various free to the public holiday films. This was made possible by individuals and businesses who see our historic theatre as valuable and important. We are so grateful for the ability to keep our doors open this year.

Our goal is to raise $1,000. This funding will not only help us keep our doors open in 2021 , but will ensure we can offer professional quality and attractive entertainment options in new, creative ways. Art is for everyone, and we are going to keep doing the work to provide for all people in various ways.

Here are some examples of what your money will go towards:

- sponsoring a school aged child for an educational theatre class taught by professionals in the industry 

- discounted/free tickets to the public to attend our 2021 season

- free movie passes for families to enjoy a showing in a socially distant, safe theatre with over 960 seats. 

- outdoor movie sponsorship in the parks 

- funding partnerships with other art related business to meet the needs of our diverse patrons

- free content to underserved populations

- contracted individuals and theatre professionals help our box office, events, and performances run successfully
