Help Fosters reStore recover from the fire

Donation protected

On the evening of November 21st, 2020, Fosters reStore's donation warehouse and ecommerce center was the victim of a structure fire. It appears that faulty wiring in a wall was the cause.  We were lucky and didn't sustain any fire damage to our inventory, but we did have quite a bit of water and smoke damage. Your donation will go directly to rebuilding from this tragedy.

Fosters reStore is the retail store for My Foster Kids Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit that helps provide foster children with no-cost clothing. The kids get to shop in the store with a monthly credit as to appear if they're actually "paying" for the clothing. This empowers these kids to be able to make choices themselves that directly benefit them.

We've spent the last 24 hours trying to assess the damage and figure out how to move forward. This location houses the presorted back-stock of donations which are ready to be priced and put out on the sales floor. It also houses the ecommerce division, consisting of sorted clothing ready to be packaged for online sales and the items already packaged, along with photo studios for uploading the products. The location also houses our in-house graphics company and sister company that provides all our printed material, signage, banners, and rack-top signs.

Thankfully, we have insurance. However, there are deductibles and things they don't cover. Not to mention the lost time and inventory going into our busy season. We also need funding for cleanup and incidental expenses, and to recover our ecommerce division as well.

Trying to figure out a dollar amount of our loss will be next to impossible, and will take months to figure out. We are pretty much fully self-funded, but our funds are too low to take this on ourselves.  The combination of the pandemic and road construction has drained all resources of our organization.

We don't like asking for help (because we're the ones that help people) but, if you can find a few dollars to help, anything would be much appreciated, and would help ensure these foster kids can get the things they need and much deserve.

If you cannot help financially, please consider a donation of goods. We can use household goods, like home decor, appliances, wall decor, etc.. This was the majority of items in the warehouse.  As well as electronics, TV's, stereo's, and more. We also are in need of furniture like end tables, kitchen table sets, refrigerators, and we can do curbside pickup if needed. If you have a large donation request, please contact us directly and we will provide you with a way to email photos.

Thank you in advance for your helping hand!
