Showing Love for Kelly and Sweet Baby James

Donation protected
Covid has certainly complicated everyone’s life this year. For Kelly, it has recently brought one final punch to her life and has presented her with incredible challenges and a fight for Life...... Shortly after Kelly being furloughed from the hospitality industry (back in March), as well as the literal shut down of the music industry for Russ..... Kelly and Russ learned the most incredible news - that they were pregnant with their first child! This most exciting moment was soon shaken by the discovery of a very scary diagnosis. Kelly found out that her baby had “velamentous cord insertion”. This is where the umbilical cord is very weak and does not supply adequate blood supply to the fetus. Soon there after, Kelly received an additional blow of bad news about her already frightening diagnosis. A specialist in high risk pregnancy’s, revealed that she had “vasa previa” along with the “velamentous cord insertion”, meaning that if her baby was to come unexpectedly or if her water was to break without her already being in a hospital on the floor of an OR, that her baby would not have any chance of survival, and she too risked bleeding out. The statistics of this rare and dangerous condition happens only once in tens of thousands of pregnancies. Vanderbilt sees 2-3 cases a year. (Yes our Kelly is special in oh so many ways!) And as if that wasn’t enough... Kelly tested Positive for COVID days after Russ learned that he had contracted COVID. So, Kelly is now the first patient to be treated at Vanderbilt as a COVID Positive, Vasa Previa with Velamentous Cord Insertion case! She had been hospitalized since November 16th, in Total Isolation with no visitors. Staff rarely enters her room because of the COVID! The doctors are hoping that Baby James will remain healthy and in utero, until she has been cleared from quarantine and they lift the Isolation order. Once cleared from Isolation, they will perform the Cesarean delivery shortly after. We pray for this so that Kelly will be able to hold sweet Baby James after he is born and not be seperated from him during his first few days of life. Her unemployment benefits ran out two weeks ago and Russ’s gigs are all cancelled. She will most likely remained hospitalized until the end of the first week of December and possibly until the second or third week of December, depending on the health of herself and baby James Dylan. Please know that any act of kindness is greatly appreciated. Any and all funds received will go to towards personal expenses and hospital demands. We are also putting together a weekly care package for Kelly, which the hospital has agreed to allow only one per week. (Keep in mind, no one can bring her anything and nothing can leave her room except that what’s going to the garbage! There is no laundry service, so she is needing extra lounge wear and etc. ). We all know how awful hospital food is, so we are putting together nutritional snacks, foods and beverages for her. Thank you for your continued prayers. And stay safe out there. This Virus is relentless!
