Todd Henderson Memorial for Jarrod (son)

Donation protected
Todd Henderson was one of my good friends in high school and college.  He passed away suddenly at the age of 51.  Please join me in honoring his memory and creating a legacy of support for his son, Jarrod, for years to come.

Everyone who knew Todd was touched by him, whether it was his goofy quirkiness, his kind spirit, his hardworking attitude, or his empathetic spirit. All of the posts and messages the family has been receiving are a true testament to how much Todd was loved and how many lives he touched.

Todd loved and lived the Boy Scout program and he and Jarrod are both Eagle Scouts.  Todd was awarded Eagle of the Year while in high school in West Palm Beach, FL, and many decades later, Jarrod was awarded Eagle Project of the Year while in high school in Lawrenceville, GA.  Todd, his dad Jim Henderson, and Jarrod were each elected by their peers to the Order of the Arrow. Todd and Jim are vigil members and Jarrod is a brotherhood member.  One of their most meaningful memories is attending the national jamboree at Ft. AP Hill as 3 generation of scouts.

Together with his parents, Jim and Cheryl Henderson, and his sister Dana Henderson Horne, Todd helped build their own beautiful ranch house in Loxahatchee, where he learned how to drift a car through sugar sand and how to get a ride-a-mower out of a pond.  He met many lifetime friends in Golfview Junior High and Twin Lakes High School, where he was both a scholar and a marching band member. While learning to yell, “Go Gators!” at the University of Florida, Todd connected with so many of us while serving at Alpha Phi Omega, and while earning both bachelors and masters degrees in the agricultural science college.

Jarrod also was in marching band in high school – marching the Bari Sax and playing bass clarinet in concerts. Despite his parents’ best efforts to convert him, Jarrod decided to become a Bulldog at the University of Georgia and graduated this year with a double major in Environmental Science and Water Resources.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Jarrod’s final semester was cut short, career fairs were cancelled, internships dried up, and no graduation ceremonies were held.  At the cusp of his adulthood and independence, Jarrod faces both the continuing fall out of the pandemic, together with the loss of his father.  As the initial shock levels off, fear of an uncertain future would be a natural response.

While there is much that we are not able to do to help make this situation better for Todd’s family, one thing that we can do is to help Jarrod financially, to help him start his independent adult years.  We have all faced loss and tragedy  Let’s take solace that we have helped give Jarrod one less burden to carry.

We can also help Todd’s family by leaving stories and photos of your remembrances.  Please leave them here or email us.

This campaign is strictly for the benefit of Todd's only son, Jarrod Henderson.
