Faith UMC Sanford-Wixom flood concert

On May 19, 2020, three of the five dams on Michigan's Tittabawassee River failed, draining both Wixom and Sanford Lakes, flooding, damaging and destroying dozens of homes and businesses in both communities, as well as downstream in Midland, Freeland and on out to the Saginaw Bay.
Hundreds of property owners and volunteers have been working ever since to clean out, sort through and hopefully rebuild. The need is ongoing - for funds, materials, food and so much more. The recovery will take months, if not years.
Numerous fundraisers are already in the works and many more will probably be needed. This one is a collaboration between Saginaw-based renowned blues musician Larry McCray and the Faith United Methodist Church in Coleman, which is about 10 miles west of Sanford and south of the Edenville and Albright Shores communities on Wixom Lake.
What: An outdoor concert by Larry McCray and his band!
When: Friday, July 24, 2020 at 7 p.m.
Where: The parking lot of Faith United Methodist Church at 209 E. Jefferson St., Coleman, MI 48618
Admission is by donation, suggested at least $10 per person. If you can't attend, please consider making a donation anyway, the funds are greatly needed and as soon as possible!

If you are attending:
1. Bring your own lawn chair
2. Bring and WEAR a facemask and bandana - there IS still a pandemic going on and this does not need to be the cause of any disease transmission!
3. Maintain safe distancing between you and anyone who is not part of your immediate household.
4. Parking is available in the lots on Jefferson on both sides of 5th Street and around the adjacent City Park.
5. One block of 4th St. will be closed to allow safe walking access to the park.
