SAVE OUR BEES

Donation protected
Just like farming—there are good years and bad years. This was a very bad year for us. We lost 550 of our hives due to colony collapse. Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) is the sudden die-off of honey bee colonies.
Worker bees (females) live about six weeks in summer and several months in the winter. Colonies produce new worker bees continuously during the spring and summer, and then reproduction slows during the winter. Typically, a bee hive or colony will decline by 5-10 percent over the winter, and replace those lost bees in the spring. In a bad year, a bee colony might lose 15-20 percent of its bees. In the U.S., winter losses have commonly reached 30-50 percent, in some cases more.
Georgia Honey Farm has been in the beekeeping industry for over 30 years. Our team is composed of competent beekeepers who dedicate their time and know-how to create the best conditions for our honey bees to be able to produce the finest honey for you. We do not use chemicals on our bees, and our honey is pure, raw, and natural. Please help our hard working beekeepers stay in business so that we can continue, with the bees, bringing a high quality, natural product, to our customers.
We are asking for your help. Funds will be used to purchase hives, bee colonies, and various equipment. Our fundraising goal is $6,000. So no matter if you can help with $10, $20, $100 or more, please take action and help us help the bees. They are critical pollinators: they pollinate 70 of the around 100 crop species that feed 90% of the world.
Honey bees are responsible for $30 billion a year in crops.
And even if you can’t help with a contribution, please share with as many people as possible to help spread the word, and keep us in your thoughts as we push forward.
