Louie died unexpectedly and suddenly at home in Folkestone on Sunday 21st June at just 54 years old.
Louie was many things to many people. He was a loving husband, soul mate to his wife Di, and a devoted dad to Danny, Jed and Charlie. Our thoughts are with his family.
Louie was an absolute legend. It's difficult to find the words to describe how larger than life he was. Louie believed in people. He gave them inspiration, drive and motivation to make something of their lives. Whether that was via his extensive music charity work or via his leasehold campaigning. He truly touched the hearts of many.
Louie did all he could for the larger society. Louie was a great strength to so many. His strong motivational words inspired everyone. "A thoroughly decent human being who never stopped giving and never gave up"
Bluesky Pie Records - Louie provided endless opportunities for young musicians via his 'Not for Profit' record label Bluesky Pie. He worked with young people guiding them through the music industry, creating opportunities they would never normally have.
Leasehold - Louie had an amazing reputation as a social justice campaigner and became one of the country’s leading critics of the leasehold system. Louie empowered people to fight for their rights and vocally challenged the government over what he saw as a deep injustice for people trapped in leasehold. He empowered thousands of leaseholders to navigate a complicated legal process to help them escape.
Louie's devotion to others meant he made many personal sacrifices. Louie never stopped giving to others. Now it's time for us to honour his memory and give something back to the most amazing man that was 'Legend' Louie Burns.
We have set up this fund to help towards funeral costs, and other immediate costs. Additional funds will go towards a 'Trust' that his family are planning to set up. The trust will be two pronged to help those Louie felt most passionately about. Helping bands and musicians progress in the music industry and help to support young lawyers to become leasehold champions. That way his amazing legacy can continue so his good work in supporting young people in the music industry and the battle against Leasehold can continue.
Louie touched our lives, he empowered us. His memory will live on in all of us.
