Bring an American Blue King to the Upstate

An American Blue King is the gold standard of tracks. Modern King tracks vary in design from pinched to punch bowl but an original Blue King, will always be considered an authentic King and all others are just copies. There are only a handful of these tracks in existence but probably none that are in near perfect shape like this track. Not only would this track be an exciting track for local racers but this would be a destination track for others to travel to and enjoy racing on.
Hands on hobbies such as model building and slot car racing still exist and I am convinced, they are more important than ever in an age of virtual living. Everyone observes but few actually do much with their hands. There are three tracks for racing slot cars in Spartanburg, SC and all three need repair to be in service. On the web page there is a tab for Homeschooling and that has been well received. There are plans to reach out to children with handicaps to give them an opportunity to build and compete.
The promotion of actual hands-on hobbies and crafts is increasingly important and builds confidence in young people who, in many cases, yearn for something other than a screen to watch life through.
I am a retired Army Chaplain and currently serving as a Sheriff's deputy and have a heart to see more kids involved in productive hobbies of most any kind whether it is woodwork or model building but model building is where I have decided to invest my effort.
I need tracks repaired and and rewired to be operational.
I hope you will share a passion to see young people get more involved in living, and not just watching, life while building skills that help them to understand the world around them and the relation of things together.
Upstate wants to give a lot of attention to attracting a new generation of racers and also providing quality and challenging tracks for experienced racers and racing series.
