Hello everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by and for considering contributing to our Baby Campanella Home Birth Fund! As you may or may not know, Missa and I have a baby boy due in just a few short months. What a joy it will be to welcome our baby into the world in late September.
After much thought, we have decided to bring our baby into the world naturally in the safe and loving environment of our own home. We have decided to have our baby the way that we feel is best for us and our new baby boy and that is through an at home water birth. Having the baby in a hospital setting is something that does not feel comfortable or ideal for us, and as this is Missa's first birth, we want to do everything we can to feel more in control of this amazing experience. This is not covered by our current health plan and needs to be paid out of pocket.
The total cost of the home birth is $4500 which includes the entire comprehensive prenatal care, labor and birth care, postpartum and well baby visits until the baby is six weeks old. We have already paid the required deposit of $800 so we are looking for assistance with the remaining $3700.
Missa's family is throwing her a small baby shower in August and we were able to put some needed items on a registry that should cover traditional baby items and gifts. This gofundme campaign is set-up to help us fund our midwifery care either in full or in part. No matter the amount raised here, Missa and I have already decided this is the way we will be having our baby and we will pay for it in any way possible. Even if we must borrow the funds.
We decided to go with Big Valley Midwives out of Modesto, California. We feel very lucky to have found such an amazing midwife team to help us deliver our baby at home. Big Valley Midwives In the unlikely event that there are complications with the birth or it is advisable by the midwives to transfer care, we live about 3 minutes away from our local hospital in Merced, so if any emergencies arise that are beyond their scope, we are confident that we will be close to a facility that can take care of us in that unlikely situation.
