Building the Healing House

2024 Update:

In 2023, the foundation for the healing house was completed with the help of all of our supporters that have donated time, money, and their prayers to this project. In spring 2024, we were able to complete the construction of the wall and roof structures. Our aim is to complete the roof of the Healing House as soon as possible to make sure that the rest of the structure is protected until we can secure enough funds to fully finish the building. This fundraiser is organized by The Wheel of Society. Our organization was created to support The Healing House vision as it becomes a reality. We are an Indigenous-led organization working within the St'at'imc, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam, and Syilx territories. 

 The Healing House is a home for the human family to come together in ceremony and rediscover their connection to self, each other, and the rest of creation. It will be built on the land of Darrell and Theresa Bob who live in the Xaxli'p community near Lillooet, British Columbia. Darrell and Theresa Bob have worked for many years as political, cultural, and spiritual leaders in their own community as well as others across Turtle Island. They were previously the hosts of the International Indigenous Leadership Gathering which welcomed thousands of visitors to the land to hear from indigenous leaders from around the world. They have also helped many men and women end their addictions to drugs and alcohol by confronting the traumas that cause these addictions. This mission focuses on supporting the healing of those who are directly or inter-generationally impacted by Indian Residential Schools, the 60's scoop, and other colonial systems.

This Healing House will host a variety of traditional and contemporary teachers to guide all members of the human family through their own healing process. The space will provide a comfortable, year-round place to facilitate this healing through ceremonies, teachings, and other events . Construction is set to begin in the Spring of 2021. We graciously ask for your support in making this vision a reality. We are currently raising funds for Phase 1 of the building which will include leveling the site, setting the foundation, and installing structural pillars. We have raised $15,000 already for the project and our funding goal represents the remaining funds necessary to complete Phase 1. Funds will go directly towards the planning and construction of the building.
