PT Legion Solar Project

Donation protected
As are many in our community, American Legion Post 26 in Port Townsend is struggling. Our revenue stream has zeroed, but costs continue. Our roof, however, offers an opportunity to lower our electric bill while generating clean electric.

We asked local companies to assess the roof and propose plans, if viable. Cascadia Solar, a division of Fredrickson Electric, has proposed a plan for just under $50,000 which would generate approximately half of our annual usage.

Legion members have pledged at least $30,000 to the project. We hope that members of our community will also support our project. We are a non-profit 501 (C), so donations are tax deductible to the legal extent (of course, please consult your own legal advisor).

Upon successful completion of our fundraising, we will initiate the construction as soon as practical. If the project, for whatever reason, cannot get off the ground, all donations shall be returned.

We are very grateful, in advance, for your consideration. We are proud of the work we do supporting the homeless and opening our doors to other community events. We are also grateful for the past support we have received.

If you prefer to donate by check, please mail to:   American Legion Post 26      209 Monroe Street     Port Townsend, WA    98368
