Denys Smirnov, a two-time winner of the International Mathematical Olympiad, needs US $100,000 for a cancer treatment abroad.
Denys Smirnov is a 22-year-old, he is a brilliant student at the Department of Mathematics at Kharkiv State University. Three years ago he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Currently, the disease is rapidly progressing. For Denys, the only chance for a complete cure is a bone marrow transplant, which cannot be performed in Ukraine.
Currently Denys is undergoing a chemotherapy treatment in Kiev with Keytruda, which will take around one and a half months. In September Denys will need to undergo a bone marrow transplant. This bone marrow transplant procedure cannot be performed in Ukraine. The only option is for it to be conducted in Turkey, for the price of US $100,000.
Denys's life depends on these funds being raised by the end of August.
