Imagine One World Kimono Project

Donation protected

With our hopes in the right place, the world can benefit.  With Tokyo hosting the 2020 Summer Olympics it is only fitting that the kimono as a centerpiece piece of art and culture that is recognized as uniquely Japanese.
Kimono Project will allow Olympic participants to display patterns, designs, and symbols that represent their home countries displayed in kimono.   This fusion of kimono culture and world culture unique to each country will be displayed as each contestant takes parade center and arms unfurl and take the spotlight. Ultimately benefiting the athlete and the country they represent.

Funds will be used for the time and materials necessary to produce or procure fabrics, dyes, threads, ropes, and brocade to design, stitch and color kimono and obi.  Imagine bolts of wonderful woven fabrics stretched out awaiting a dip in the color that has been chosen.  Later cut and pieced back together each one as different as the snowflake as it is decorated with symbols associated with the country it represents.  Beautiful robes take place of athletic warm-ups or team uniforms.  A beautiful parade, pageant, and celebration of Earth’s people.

We are at dipping into our prep time as the Summer Games are around the corner.  Planning and capital have been in the works for months, we are nearing game-day and seek that final push to get us to the goal line.  Support begins shortly after reading this message and opting-in to be a part of this year’s Olympics march-on.

Your support helps spread the beauty of kimono around the world.  Kimono is a uniquely Japanese, and deeply rich cultural heritage symbol of beauty.  Sharing this with the world, to make kimono yours and mine.  The beauty of culture as it matures to the beauty of the world, not a seeking of one culture but a forum to be one world.

Gratitude for your gift of support along with any amount of credit can be bestowed as a producer of the Kimono Project.  Esprit de Corps in being a part of projects that go beyond your own neighborhood and into the world.  Esprit de Corps - If you've ever been on a sports team that had great morale and team spirit, you've experienced esprit de corps this. The term is French, and it literally means "the spirit of the body," with the body in this case meaning "group."
