Help for Ron and his wife

Donation protected
Hello everyone.  I have lived next to Ron and Kasey for more than 20 years.  They are great people and the best neighbors that one could hope for.   However, they are struggling with multiple hardships and because of a recent, unfortunate incident they are in need of assistance from others.  Here is their story...

Like so many people today we are struggling to just survive. So much is happening all around us, and to
us, so much so, that it is hard to cope at times. My husband and I have been fortunate enough to have
support from family and friends and are blessed a hundred times over in that regards.
While having loving support should be enough, there are times when you need more. The help that we
can’t get from ordinary means is financial. We’ve had our ups and downs. We’ve had more than our
fair share of unending events that leave us devastated financially over and over again. As the saying
goes; if we didn’t have bad luck, we wouldn’t have luck at all.
For over 35 years my husband’s health has suffered; he has had gastrointestinal diseases that have left
him having multiple surgeries to repair a fissure, and now he is trying to keep from moving from pre-
cancer to cancer of the esophagus. On top of this he suffers from debilitating pain and arthritis.
I myself have had 3 auto accidents, 1 work accident and have an auto-immune disorder (Crohns). The
auto accidents have left me with a slight disability in my right hand/wrist, migraines, and now a
herniated disc. The work accident led to finding lesions on my spine and a couple years of testing and
retesting and more testing to determine whether they were cancerous or would turn cancerous. At some
point you just have to scream, “STOP! I’ve had enough.”
After my last accident I looked to the universe and told whomever was listening that I am done. No
more. I just can’t do this again.
There hasn’t been a year that we haven’t maxed out our health insurance benefits to the tune of
between $8k and $10k out of pocket annually, and that doesn’t include the supplements, over the
counter medications, and chiropractic care.
Now, enters the insanity of our world and how it is impacting every community. And us. Because the
arthritis my husband suffers from is so severe he has to maintain chiropractic and physical therapy, and
daily walks. His walks aren’t long – just a few blocks around and up and down our alley, which converts
to a street at one point. He’ll walk a few times a day – whatever it takes to ease the stress and tension in
his joints and back.
Recently he went on a walk with a friend from out of town that put them in a bad situation due to the
heightened fears and rioting, which put them on the defense from a crazed mob. Since Ron couldn’t
run from the mob of men he was forced to attempt to walk away. The men wouldn’t let him pass, and
he repeatedly told them to leave him be or he would defend himself, which he did.
Unfortunately our society favors the mob mentality and not the frailty of a 65 year old man simply
defending himself from a group of larger and taller and younger men. Now we have to defend this in
court with an attorney which will cost in excess of $20,000. After all of our struggles financially how can
we deal with this? Not without your help. Not without friends and family. Not financially and not
emotionally.
Simply put, even a donation of $1 (and kindly sharing this with others who can help with donations) will
help us with our surmounting bills. What is $1? One cup of coffee at McDonalds, one make a wish
donation or other foundation star on a wall (I have a wall, and I can make a thank you wall too!), less
than the cost for an ice cream cone, and less than a burger,... as you can see anything you can spare can
mean the difference of endless poverty for us and emotional ruin. You have our endless gratitude for
whatever you can do.
