Larry Rash Memorial Scholarship
The Larry Rash Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor the life of Larry Rash and to support a student who is a pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the architectural field at any college or university of their choice located in the United States of America.
Originally from Cincinnati, Larry came to Florida in 1996 and joined Davis Bews Design Group in 2010. His experience in the residential architectural field dates to his high school days, when he attended a vocational school in architectural drafting and later received his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering Technology from the University of Cincinnati. Or, we can go even further back to when he spent his afternoons building Lego® houses in grade school. The field has always interested and excited Larry, and his passion is clear. He enjoyed being challenged and one of his favorite hobbies included visiting architectural sites in his spare time.
Around the office at DBDG, Larry provided QA reviews of every plan before it leaves the office, code research, and provides quality feedback to our drafters so that they understand the why behind specific building requirements and regulations. Larry also regularly attended local builder association meetings and kept our staff and clients up to date on changes and trends in the industry.
“I am a consistently focused, detailed, visual-thinking team player who connects with others, helping them by explaining how things work, resulting in producing the best from them.” That is Larry’s Unique Ability® statement; the framed snapshot of who he naturally was at his best, hanging on the wall in his office as a constant reminder.
Larry was a unique and loved person to his family, friends and work community. We know that he would be proud and honored to sponsor a young individual in accomplishing a architectural career.
